No “Tax Policy” election

Like in the lead up to the 2007 election, where Kevin Rudd promised (almost) exactly the same tax policy as had been announced 2 days before by Howard & Costello, Albo is going to take tax out of the debate for the upcoming election…

Labor in government will uphold the legislated changes to personal income taxes and maintain the existing regimes for negative gearing and capital gains tax...

This means that there will be no limits to negative gearing argued in the election (even though the NZ government is going ahead with this without grandfathering)

And there will be no arguments about tax rates as both parties now agree that the next change to the individual tax rates will be on 1 July 2024… and it will be amazing…
